Site structure

As the lotus bakeries web shop we decided to use the deep structure. It is logical to use this because we have 4 different topics. The topics are : web shop, home, activities and blog. We chose we will not use breadcrumbs because we have a limited product range on our web shop.

As a consumer it is extremely easy to navigate through our website. Even a kid will find his way! The chapters are all highlighted an stand above the main logo.

Within the chapter home you can go to :

·       Webshop

·       Blog

Within the chapter activities you can find all the activities. Some activities are divided in multiple other ones.

At the chapter web shop you can find our entire product range:

·       Speculoos

·       Speculoospasta

·       Wafels

·       Frangipanes

·       galetten

·       Etc.

And finally we have our blog, were we all keep our customers up to date with our newest inventions and products.

Link building

For the link building we chose these four web site options :

·       Senseo

·       Starbucks

·       belgianproducts.com

·       colect.be

Senseo is one of the biggest coffee machine providers in the world. This brand is especially known in Europe which is our main target group. If we could make a deal with them about co-marketing that would be amazing. What fits better with a cup of coffee than a nice frangipane or biscuit from lotus? As the major bakery on the Belgian market they would benefit a lot from our partnership as well. They could put our logo on the right hand side  next to the logo of Douwe Egberts another partner of them.

Starbucks could be another potential partner. They are also known for their coffee, but on a whole other level, they have stores. The strategy would be exactly the same as with Senseo. Only would they offer a cookie whenever the customer get a Mayor deal on Foursquare. With this offer they get the free cookie of the week. The link would stand on the customers smartphone, or a potential QR code at the bar.

The third option would be Belgianproducts.com. this an international site that promotes Belgian products. The products they especially sell are biscuits, chocolate and beer. This is our main market segment. If we could convince them for placing our products on their site or a link to our webshop this could bring web shop to the international market.

The last option would be collect.be. This is website equal to belgianproducts. The difference is that it is only situated on the Belgian market. They are specialized at every Belgian A-labeled product. This means : beers, design, tools, food, etc. If we could get a separate link to our web shop this would definitely enhance our sales.

I think all these options will cost no money. As we are the main producer in Belgian of biscuits and other sweets. Every website related to biscuits or food products would love to make a deal with us, because they will get attention as well. If they want an amount of money, we can only go to a maximum of 100 euro a month. The money will depend from the amount of visitors the site has. In case of Senseo this could be a for example 500 Euros. In case of Collect, this can be less than 100 Euros.
