History
The company, Lotus Bakeries, was founded in 1932 in Lembeke by 3 brothers, Jan, Emiel and Henri Boone. They started by creating Speculoos and breakfast-cookies, but later on they specialized themselves on to the first one.
In 1969, Lotus bought its first company, ‘Biscuiterie Tourist’, who had cakes.
In 1974, Lotus merged with Corona to conquer the Belgian market. This was just a start to penetrate the rest of the European market.
